The short version

Give them a cycled tank with a sponge filter, a clump of moss or a few plants to graze, and a pinch of food a few times a week. They eat algae and biofilm all day on their own.

Copper is toxic to shrimp, so skip copper-based medications. Keep water changes small and steady, and drip-acclimate new arrivals for about an hour before they go in.

Tankmates: anything that can't fit a shrimp in its mouth. Snails and other shrimp are safe bets; bettas and most cichlids will eat them.

All our shrimp are unsexed — sex is random and can't be guaranteed. If you're hoping to breed, a bigger pack is the honest way to get both sexes.

Asked a lot

Are the shrimp sexed?

No — all shrimp are unsexed. Sex is random and cannot be guaranteed.

When do orders ship?
